Scholarship News

We are proud to announce that our Part II student, Elena Liskova has been awarded the 2019 / 2020 Santander Scholarship from the University of Plymouth for further architectural research that would enhance her academic and professional development.

She recently completed her Master’s Degree final dissertation in “Earth: A solution for the refurbishment in the climate crisis age”, received First Class Honours for it and has being selected to be published in the University of Plymouth academic journal.

As a result, Elena demonstrated exceptional potential in alternative building techniques as a way to address climate changes urgencies and the judges were impressed. The scholarship will enable her to attend 3 days practical workshop in Brighton on construction of dwellings with earth. The workshop is a natural progression into her career and affiliates with our practice ethos of sustainable design.

Zero to Landfill

Zero to Landfill

We are pleased to be able to say that GJR Architects is a Zero to Landfill practice. We have chosen Devon Contract Waste as our high quality waste management partners. Our philosophy is to prevent any waste material (produced within the practice) being disposed to landfill, segregating wastes into individual material streams ready for re-processing into raw materials and new products.
